Emperor of Rome, Second

About a month after the death of Augustus Caesar, the first Emperor of Rome, Tiberius Julius Caesar Augustus (original name: Tiberius Claudius Nero) became the second emperor of Rome. His reign began on September 17, 14 CE, a month after the death of Augustus. He ruled until March 13, 37CE, when he died after falling ill. Rumors that his death was a murder swirled, many even claiming that his successor Caligula had something to do with his death.
